KIDS & TEENS
Both structured and unstructured play are vital for a child’s wellbeing, learning, and growth. At the Goodyear Recreation Center, we provide ample opportunities for both.
Families pass holders have the opportunity to drop in on the basketball courts, use the walking track, play active games on the iWall, and take advantage of open swim hours at our Aquatics Center.
The Goodyear Recreation Center also hosts registration-based programs for structured engagement and peer socialization including preschool, enrichment programming, youth sports, and camps.
Teen Activity Room
The teen room is a place for youth to gather, build community, and come together to participate in opportunities for recreation. This is a safe place for teens to grow emotionally and socially with staff mentors as well as provide teens a space to connect with other teens across the valley using state-of-the-art gaming equipment.
As teens become familiar and connected with others in their community, GRC will provide opportunities for teens to develop leadership skills and work-readiness through volunteer, employment, and involvement in civic duties by empowering them to create events and programs at the GRC.
8eleven
A stellar program for youth pass holders ages 8-11. Each weeknight, youth ages 8-11 have their own space for video games, S.T.E.A.M. activities, virtual reality, and being with friends. All children under ten must have a responsible parent or guardian in the facility.
Playgrounds
Like no other, the GRC’s multifunctional playgrounds were designed to be an outdoor space for all ages and abilities. Kids will undoubtedly gravitate towards these multi-level play structures featuring turf, climbing areas, inverted slides, and ramps.
The playground includes spaces designed for children age 5-12, as well as a dedicated space for younger kids that includes a unique circular swing set. Swing down the zip line, get dizzy on the spinning amenities, or make music with sound components and sensory panels!
Aquatic Center
Cool off at the Goodyear Aquatics Center – the ultimate summertime destination. For kids and teens, you can’t miss the two 27-foot slides visible from Estrella Pkwy. These slides are the largest you’ll find in Arizona outside of a water park and feature a speed time so riders can race against their friends or beat their own personal record.
The splash play area for younger children features age appropriate slides, water features, and a large dumping bucket!
